Happy Super Bowl Sunday…I mean if that’s your thing. I have never been one to get excited over who was playing in the Super Bowl and honestly, I could care less. As far back as I can remember, the only time that football was on in my house was during the Super Bowl and it wasn’t to watch the game, but to watch the commercials which were far more entertaining than the game anyways. My dad was more of a Dale Earnhardt, go fast turn left, Nascar kind of man. I won’t get deep into what Nascar Sundays were like, especially the first big race of the season. Lord the obscenities flying around were worse than any words I learned while working on any vehicle. When the guy you were rooting for didn’t place in the top 3 or got wrecked out, the whole Sunday was ruined right then and there. I guess I can see how football would affect a person the same way. The only team that could ever turn me into a raging, cussing, crazy person was the team that my son played on. Now, on to the other half of this Super Bowl thing…. I somehow missed the Swifty fan bus. I will be the first to admit that I don’t listen to country music unless it was made before the year 2000, and I will never understand mixing pop and country together. I know……. she’s all the rage and how can I not listen to Taylor Swift? Blame it on my dad. Nine-Tenths of my playlist consists of CCR & The Doobie Brothers. It isn’t like I have anything against her, I just don’t listen to her music and apparently the fact that she is dating an NFL player makes her all the more of an attraction. So, now you have all the “Swifties” in on watching the Super Bowl hoping to get a glimpse of good old Taylor and her hunky football boyfriend. I am not even gonna try and lie, I can think of 50 other things I would rather do than watch the Super Bowl tonight. However, we have been invited to a friend’s house and I am looking forward to spending time with their kids and making a huge cast iron skillet cookie. So, for all of you out there that will be watching every play from the edge of your seats, and for those that will be waiting for an appearance from Ms. Swift herself, I wish you luck on whomever you are rooting for.
Super Bowl Swifties?
